MyEllevate offers minimally invasive rejuvenation for the neck
MyEllevate Scottsdale
As people age, they commonly experience sagging of the skin under the chin. This can cause the appearance of a “turkey wattle” and make the jawline look less defined. Many people also find fat tissue accumulating in the area below the chin, causing a permanent double chin. These issues contribute to an aged appearance, and can make people look heavier and less healthy than they really are. Some people feel self-conscious about these issues, and may even avoid having their picture taken because they don’t like how they look.
Plastic surgery can be used to address these concerns. However, there are also many people who don’t want to or can’t commit to surgery at this time, and would prefer a less invasive method of tightening the chin and neck. A new development in technology, called MyEllevate, is now available here in our office. This offers a highly effective, minimally invasive solution for sagging below the chin.
How does MyEllevate work?
MyEllevate can be performed in the office, under local anesthesia, and takes only about an hour. The surgeon uses very small incisions to access the space under the chin. The muscles and other tissue are lifted and elevated, and then sutured into place. MyEllevate is sometimes called “the Zoom Lift,” because it adddresses issues that cause many people to feel self-conscious when they see themselves on video. There are immediate results from the procedure.
MyEllevate uses ICLED, which is a light-guided surgical system. Sutures are placed via a long thin rod, which can be inserted through a small incision. The challenge is being able to place the sutures precisely without directly seeing the area. ICLED solves this problem by using LED lights that are shined through the skin, allowing the surgeon to see where the tip of the instrument is. This allows for very precise placement of sutures beneath the skin, without needing larger incisions. A highly trained plastic surgeon knows the anatomy of the area well enough to know exactly where to place sutures for maximum effectiveness.
What is the recovery like?
Because the incisions are very tiny, recovery from MyEllevate is much easier than recovery from a surgical facelift. It’s performed using only local anesthesia, so there’s no need to arrange for someone else to drive you to and from your appointment. Although most people choose to take the rest of the day off work, there’s generally no problem with returning to work the next day. There may be some bruising and swelling of the area for a few days, so it’s best not to have the procedure immediately before a major social event (such as a wedding). However, there’s generally no need for significant downtime to recover from MyEllevate.
Can MyEllevate be combined with other treatments?
MyEllevate can be combined with liposuction to remove deposits of fat below the chin. This also uses tiny incisions, and then the excess fat tissue When neck liposuction is performed alone, the skin often doesn’t shrink back enough to adhere to the new contour. However, if fat tissue is removed by liposuction and then the skin and other tissues are lifted with MyEllevate, the result can be dramatic.
MyEllevate can also be combined with noninvasive skin tightening procedures, such as Evoke or FaceTite. This procedure uses RF energy to stimulate the production of collagen, which leads to tightening of the skin. This additional skin tightening will enhance the results of MyEllevate. helping to create a more youthful appearance of the jawline and the area under the chin.
Is MyEllevate right for you? MyEllevate Scottsdale
The MyEllevate procedure was designed for those who want more dramatic results than a noninvasive procedure can offer by itself, but who don’t want to have a surgical procedure. It offers a minimally invasive solution with a quick recovery time, but also creates immediate and noticeable results.
We also offer several other options for tightening of this area, which may work along with MyEllevate or may be alternatives.
