Botox and Facial Fillers Leading Cosmetic Procedures for Men in 2012
Botox and Facial Fillers For Men In Scottsdale
According to a recent article in the Digital Journal, the two most common cosmetic procedures for men in 2012 were Botox Cosmetic injections and facial fillers. This was announced by Dr. Babak Azizzadeh, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who has gained popularity as a plastic surgery expert on reality television. The next most popular cosmetic procedures for men were rhinoplasty, face lifts and neck lifts. Male cosmetic surgery procedures have seen massive growth nationwide and internationally, as procedures for men gain acceptance socially and interest in them grows.
One of the key factors for men considering plastic surgery may be competitive workplace environments. When hiring becomes more competitive, those looking to advance in the job market often seek to find any edge that they can. For many, cosmetic surgical and non-surgical procedures may help them look younger and more full of energy in the eyes of prospective employers and network connections. The celebrity culture and expanding definition of male beauty have also contributed to men being more open and interested in the possibility of cosmetic procedures.
More Men Choosing to Have Surgical and Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures
“The top two cosmetic procedures performed in 2012 for men … were Botox and Facial Fillers. Men don’t always immediately jump to surgery as the answer to rejuvenate their face, and they are noticing that non-invasive techniques can provide them with amazing results,” stated Dr. Azizzadeh. “Botox and facial fillers work well together to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while simultaneously replacing volume near the eyes, temples, and cheeks that has been lost as a result of the aging process.”
Men have been particularly drawn to injectable cosmetic procedures, and many have used them in preparation for major life events, such as weddings, parties and business events. Fathers anxious about walking their daughters down the aisle during their wedding have particularly benefited from these cosmetic injections. For these situations, the injections may be perfectly timed to provide the maximum benefit when the men need it the most.
Men Overwhelmingly Choose Facial Procedures
When it comes to surgical procedures, men are most likely to choose procedures relating to the face. “I don’t believe that procedures like the facelift or rhinoplasty are going to disappear from our list anytime soon, as they do provide the best results possible for what patients aim to achieve,” says Dr. Azizzadeh. “However, plastic surgery is becoming more and more friendly to non-invasive treatments than ever before, and I would not be surprised to see [other non-invasive treatments] make this list next year.”
While much less likely then women to choose surgical procedures of the body, men frequently request facial surgeries such as facelift and rhinoplasty. For men that do have body cosmetic surgical procedures, some of the most common include liposuction and body contouring procedures such as tummy tucks and various lifts to remove excess tissue and skin.
